Crosscut’s Nature Camps for Kids

Supportive opportunities to learn, grow, and play outdoors

Crosscut’s experiential nature camps inspire curiosity, confidence, and gratitude while encouraging a reciprocal relationship with our natural world. Using a place-based approach that encourages a sense of wonder, our nature camps blend science and art, play and education, and community and solitude. Join us for a safe, fun, and welcoming summer outside exploring the place we call home.

Below is the information, schedule, and pricing for our Summer 2024 Nature Camps.

Summer 2025 details will be added in February 2025. Registration will open March 1, 2025. Reach out to camps@crosscutmt.org for more information.

 

Camp details

  • Nature camps serve youth entering grades 1-6 in the upcoming 2024-2025 school year

  • Camps are $325/week

  • Camps run Monday to Friday from 9AM – 3PM

  • All camps will take place entirely at Crosscut, where we have access to 533 acres of forests and meadows, countless trails to explore, and indoor spaces to provide relief from inclement weather

  • A 5% discount is offered for siblings attending camps the same week

  • We aim to provide accessible ways for everyone to enjoy more time spent outdoors, including ensuring programs are financially accessible and offer need-based scholarships and payment plans — contact us at camps@crosscutmt.org for more information

*This session will have an emphasis on exploring more of Crosscut's trails and spending more time away from the base area than other sessions — perfect for kids who like to be on the move!

Tune in to Nature

1st – 3rd Graders

Take a closer look at our natural world. Experience nature in a new way by slowing down, asking questions, and tuning in to the small things happening all around us. With play and curiosity as our guide, explore the animal and plant species that call the Bridgers home through hikes, projects, activities, and games. 

Focused themes and activities vary by week based on our landscape ensuring that kids who attend more than one session will explore new and different content each week.

Life Beneath the Bridgers

4th – 6th Graders

Explore the interconnectedness of the species and natural features of the Bridger mountains and foothills. Learn about the human history of this place; the importance of the mountains and our valley to many Indigenous Peoples and how humans have interacted with the landscape over time. Through hikes, art, and science activities, participants will get to know this dynamic mountain ecosystem. 

Focused themes and activities vary by week based on our landscape ensuring that kids who attend more than one session will explore new and different content each week.

 

Cancellations

Cancellations made 10 days prior to the program start date will receive a refund minus a $50 processing fee. Cancellations within 9 days of the program start date will not receive a refund. Participants facing schedule challenges related to COVID-19 or other special circumstances are encouraged to reach out as soon as possible to find shared solutions.
