Celebrating 20 Years of Ski Education at Crosscut

This year, Crosscut is celebrating the 20th anniversary of our Adventures in Winter Ecology (AWE) program! This unique school program, combining winter ecology and cross-country skiing instruction, began in 2003 as a collaboration between Bohart Ranch and Montana Outdoor Science School.

We want to thank teachers for their years of support and participation in this program. It is a tremendous effort to get over 2,000 students on skis each year, and we could not do it without them. To show our gratitude, Crosscut Mountain Sports Center is offering free skiing to all teachers on Saturday, February 4th! Come celebrate with us and enjoy a day on the trails! Please spread the word to any teachers that may want to join.

Details for Teachers

• Come enjoy our trails, free of charge, anytime between 9am-4pm on Saturday, February 4th.

• Come to the Nordic Center (Lot A) with a school ID or paystub to receive your free day pass for you and a plus one.

• If needed, you can purchase rentals from the Nordic Center while supplies last. We have a limited supply of rentals and encourage you to reserve your rentals online in advance here. You can also inquire about renting skis in town and bringing them up with you. Chalet Sports may be a good place to try.

• Any teachers in the Gallatin Valley and surrounding areas are welcome!

Half-Day AWE Program

In addition to our teacher appreciation day, we will also be holding abbreviated Ski Ed programs in Lots B/C for students and their families. We are partnering with Montana Outdoor Wilderness School (MOSS) to invite some 3rd-5th grade students to join our instructors for a half-day AWE program, free of charge..
